Indian citizens of all ages are eligible to participate in the Wildlife Photography Contest 2023. Employees and associates of the Kerala Forest Department (KFD) and their immediate family members are excluded.
Contestants must fully and unconditionally agree to abide by the terms and conditions. The decisions of KFD, represented by the Chief Wildlife Warden, Kerala, are final.
Entries for the Wildlife Photography Contest 2023 will be accepted from September 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. IST to September 30, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. IST.
Participation is free and must be done online through the official website of Kerala Forest Department. Contestants must submit entries in compliance with specified technical requirements and the provided registration form.
The contest theme is Nature and Wildlife photographed in the State of Kerala.
Each participant can submit a maximum of five entries.
Photographs must be in JPEG format, with a size limit of 8 Megabytes or smaller. Images should have a minimum resolution of 3000 pixels on the longer side. Only standard optimization is allowed, and any manipulations altering the original image's truthfulness lead to disqualification.
Entries will be reviewed by State Nodal Officer and Wildlife Warden, Thiruvananthapuram on October 1st, 2023. Submissions after 5:00 pm on September 30th, 2023, will not be accepted.
A panel of judges with expertise in wildlife videography/photography will evaluate the entries. Winners will be notified by email and/or telephone on October 4, 2023.
Winners will receive cash prizes of Rs. 20000, Rs. 10000, and Rs. 6000 respectively, along with Certificates of Recognition. Certificates of Merit will be awarded to ten entries as a consolation prize. Prizes are non-transferable, and winners are responsible for any associated expenses.
Contestants acknowledge that KFD has the right to use their entries for advertising and promotional purposes, provided it doesn't infringe on third-party rights. Contestants must ensure their entries are original and don't violate intellectual property rights.
KFD reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest. Entries from previous years are ineligible. Entries involving wildlife harassment or forest damage will be rejected. KFD can disqualify individuals attempting to tamper with the entry process or contest operation.
The decision of the jury is final.
