The Columban Open Quiz 2023 (COQ) is an eagerly awaited and highly prestigious quiz competition by, proudly hosted by St. Columba's School in the vibrant city of New Delhi. As one of the most anticipated events in the quizzing circuit, COQ 2023 offers an exceptional platform for talented school students from all corners of India to participate in an intellectually stimulating and thrilling quizzing extravaganza.
This quiz competition is designed to celebrate the brilliance of young minds and foster a spirit of healthy competition among students. Participants, aptly called "budding quizzers," are given a unique opportunity to showcase their knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- The Columban Open Quiz 2023 (COQ) is a highly anticipated and prestigious quiz competition for school students all across India, organized by St. Columba's School in New Delhi.
- The quiz is open to middle school students & high school students from all over India, providing a thrilling opportunity for budding quizzers to showcase their knowledge and skills.
- Students from classes VIII to XII (2023-24 Batch) are eligible to participate in the prestigious national quiz competition.
- Each participating team is composed of four members, allowing schools to register multiple teams and encourage enthusiastic participation among their students. The diversity of team compositions, drawing students from various classes, adds to the excitement and camaraderie of the event.
Registration and Important Dates for the Columban Open Quiz 2023 (COQ'23)
- Registration can be done using the attached Registration Form and should be submitted no later than 20th July 2023.
- A registration fee of Rs. 200 per team is applicable, to be paid in cash on the day of the COQ, i.e., 21st July 2023.
- Given the popularity of the Columban Open Quiz, and the limited number of slots available, registrations are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. Thus, schools are encouraged to secure their spots by registering at the earliest.
Competition Structure for the Columban Open Quiz Contest
- The quiz contest is divided into multiple rounds, each designed to challenge the participants' mental acuity and breadth of knowledge. The journey to quizzing glory begins with the Elimination Round, scheduled for 21st July 2023 (Friday). From this round, the top 16 teams will earn a well-deserved spot in the Semi-finals.
- The Semi-finals will be divided into two groups, Semi Finals I on 21st July and Semi Finals II on 22nd July 2023.
- The eagerly awaited Finals will be held on 22nd July 2023, a day of nerve-wracking excitement and intellectual showdown. All rounds, including the gripping Finals, will unfold in the prestigious Edmund Rice Hall, located within the premises of the esteemed St. Columba's School.
Participation Guidelines for the COQ 2023
- To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, each participating team must be accompanied by a responsible Teacher in charge. This not only provides support to the students but also adds an element of mentorship and guidance throughout the competition.
- Another remarkable aspect of the Columban Open Quiz is its inclusivity. Students from any class between 8th and 12th are eligible to form teams, fostering an environment of collaboration and learning across different grade levels.
