Anton Chekhov and Characters of his Works
Overview: The 12th International Children's Art Contest, "Anton Chekhov and Characters of his Works," invites school and college students worldwide to showcase their artistic talents. Held in Chekhov's hometown, Taganrog, in June 2024, this International Art Contest 2024 has a rich history, having begun in 2004 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the author's death. It has since gained international recognition, drawing participants from over 60 countries.
Supported by: Rostov Oblast Ministry of Culture, Taganrog Arts and Culture Council, Taganrog Local Government, Foreign Relations Office, and more.
Jury Members: A panel of esteemed judges, including Mr. Oleg Ignatov and Mrs. Lyudmila Kazakova, will evaluate the submissions.
How to Enter in this Art Contest 2024
- Download the official entry form in PDF format or request it by email if unable to print.
- Submit your completed entry to the Foreign Relations Office in Taganrog.
Terms and Conditions in this International Art Contest 2024
- Participants: The contest is open to students from children's art schools, fine art studios, and more.
- Age: Children aged 4 to 17 are eligible to participate.
- Subjects: Choose from various Chekhov-related themes such as portraits, illustrations, humor, landscapes, family, and Taganrog itself.
- Style and Medium: Categories include graphic art, painting (watercolors, gouache, tempera), and decorative and applied arts (ceramics, textile).
- Dimensions: Artwork should not exceed 62 x 42.5 centimeters.
Submission Requirements in this International Art Contest
- Artwork should remain unframed.
- Each piece must be signed on the back with specific details.
- Educational institutions may enter up to ten works, while individual contestants are limited to two submissions.
