Tata Consultancy Services’ National-level Contest Helps Students Gain High-value 21st Century Skills
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) iON IntelliGem is a national-level contest aimed at helping young learners in India develop high-value 21st-century skills. The contest is open to students in grades 5 to 9 and covers five key areas: universal values, global citizenship, communication skills, creativity and innovation, and financial literacy.
Eligibility and Topics
To participate in TCS iON IntelliGem, students must purchase the topics they wish to compete in after filling the application form. The contest is open to students in grades 5 to 9.
The five topics covered by TCS iON IntelliGem are:
- Universal Values
- Global Citizenship
- Communication Skills
- Creativity and Innovation
- Financial Literacy
Benefits and Awards
Participants of TCS iON IntelliGem have access to free digital booklets on 21st-century topics authored by experts to expand their learning. They can also engage in fun-filled learning through webinars, blogs, puzzles, and more.
Students who perform well in the contest receive a personalised report with an IntelliGem Quotient and a certificate. Winners and finalists are also eligible for exciting cash prizes, trophies, medals, certificates, leadership training, and books and subscriptions.
Competition Stages
The contest has three stages:
Stage 1: Qualifying Round
In this round, students take two online assessments to evaluate their understanding and knowledge of their topic(s). Based on their performance, students move on to the next stage.
Stage 2: Pre-Final
Top students from every grade-topic move on to the Pre-Finals, where a panel of experts evaluates their skill demonstration/performance across their topic(s) in an audio/visual, activity-based interview.
Stage 3: Grand Finale
Top students for every grade-topic participate in the Grand Finale, where they are evaluated by a Jury in a face-to-face, activity-based contest. Winners are chosen for every topic across two categories – Junior (grades 5 and 6) and Senior (grades 7, 8, and 9).
How to Participate?
Students can register for TCS iON IntelliGem only if their school has registered for the contest. The last date for registration is yet to be announced (probably in October).
