About Short Story Substack
Short Story Substack, headquartered in San Francisco, is an American online platform that provides publishing, payment, analytics, and design infrastructure for subscription newsletters. It allows writers to directly send digital newsletters to their subscribers.
About the Short Story Contest
Mission: Revive the art of the short story, support artists, and produce something wonderful.
Payout: The chosen story receives a base pay of $100 (approx. Rs. 8k) and 50% of subscription revenue received by Short Story Substack, which can be sent via Paypal, Zelle, or check.
Timeline: Submit your stories by the end of the month to Short Story Substack, and the winner will be announced on the 15th. There will be one winning story that receives the full payout.
Writing Competition Rules
- No fees to enter.
- Submit your entries in Microsoft Word or Google Doc form.
- Any genre is welcome.
- Your story should be between 6,000 and 10,000 words.
- Reprints are allowed, as long as you still have the rights to distribute them.
- Acknowledge Distribution Rights: You can still sell your story elsewhere, but Substack needs the ability to save and publish it on their platform to create a library for subscribers.
