- Short stories should be between 2,000 to 4,500 words.
- Stories must be the writer's own original, previously unpublished work.
- No previously published or forthcoming stories can be considered, including self-published online content.
- Submitted work must be the sole creation of the writer without any assistance from AI tools or software.
- Stories should feature teen characters and focus on the teen experience.

- Only one submission per person is allowed.
- All final, edited content is subject to approval by One Teen Story.
- Parental consent is required for winners under the age of 18 for name publication on the website and social media.

Prizes in this Teen Writing Contest 2023
- Winning stories will be published in forthcoming issues of One Teen Story, reaching over ten thousand readers.

- Winners will have the opportunity to work with a One Teen Story editor before publication.
- Honorable mentions will be chosen in three age categories: 13-15, 16-17, and 18-19.
