World Environment Day Summit 2023 | 5th Edition
The World Environment Day Summit, organized by the Rajasthan Environment and Energy Conservation Center, is set to take place on June 4th and 5th, 2023, at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This will be the 5th edition of the event, which aims to promote environmental education and conservation among school students, including pre-school, junior school, middle school, and senior school students.
About the Event
The World Environment Day Summit is anticipated to be the largest event in the history of Rajasthan, with over 5000 attendees. The event will feature various environmental activities, including conferences, powerpoint presentations by renowned environmentalists and ministers, and recognition of individuals making significant contributions to the environment. Scholars from prestigious universities will be invited to share their research on environmental issues, and experts from around the world will participate remotely to provide insights and knowledge.
In addition to these activities, the event will host several contests to raise awareness among people of all ages. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity in painting contests, writing competitions, clay art, collage making, bag making, photography, and more. The event aims to engage individuals from different civilizations and communities in building environmental protection measures and fostering a sense of environmental responsibility.
Guidelines for Attendees and Participants
Summit Attendee:
- Attendees must collect their ID cards on the event day.
- Academics and researchers interested in presenting their work should contact the organizer.
- Attendees will receive a notepad or a pencil from the organizer.
- Formal attire is required for all attendees.
Rules for Participants:
- Participants must carry their tickets or activity vouchers on the event day.
- Participants in arts and crafts competitions should bring their own supplies, such as brushes and paints.
- For specific competitions, the event organizer will provide paper sheets, clay, pots, newspapers, magazines, and a display spot for artwork.
- Each participant must collect their ID card on the day of the event.
- Participants in street plays should bring their own costumes.
Activities of World Environment Day
The event offers various competitions and activities for participants of different age groups, including below 16 years and 16 years and above. Here are some of the competitions and their rules:
Essay/Blogging:
- Essay Competition:
- Word Limit: 800 to 1500 words
- Languages: Hindi/English
- Original work with up to 10% plagiarism allowed
- Time: 45 minutes
- Topic: Environment-related
- Competition open for everyone
- Blog Competition:
- Word Limit: 300 to 1000 words
- Original work with up to 10% plagiarism allowed
- Time: 45 minutes

- The best three blogs will be published on the event website

Drawing Art and Doodling:
- Drawing Competition:
- Use of watercolor, sketching, or crayons
- Time: 3 to 4 hours
- Topic: Environment-related

- Doodling Competition:
- Original content
- Time: 3 to 4 hours
- Competition open for everyone
Collage Making:
- Use of sticks, leaves, nuts, magazines, and newspapers
- Time: 3 to 4 hours, with 2 minutes to explain the art
- Maximum three members per team

- The art should convey a social message
Clay Art:
- Time: 3 to 4 hours
- Participants can choose their own topics
- Competition open for everyone
Making Bags:
- Use of t-shirts, newspapers, shoe laces, and scraps
- Time: 120 minutes
- Participants should bring their own materials

Recycle Bin Art (Best Out of Waste):
- Maximum two members per team
- Time: 12 to 3 hours
- Participants can choose their own themes
- Competition open for everyone
Pot Decoration and Plantation:
- Time: 3 to 4 hours
- Theme: Any topic
- Competition open for everyone
Project Exhibition/Science Project:
- Team: 5 to 10 members
- Space will be provided to display the projects
- 10 minutes will be given to explain the projects
- Competition open for everyone
Photography Competition:
- Individual entries
- Participants should bring their own cameras or mobile phones
- Minimum 10 and maximum 20 photos should be submitted with titles
- The submitted photographs will be property of REECC
- Competition open for everyone
Street Play/Mime Act:
- Groups should send their entries via mail or WhatsApp
- The best two acts will be selected for performance
- Time: 10 minutes
- Maximum seven members per group
- Competition open for everyone
Live Portrait:
- Use of sheet paper or canvas
- Time: 3 to 4 hours
- Competition open for everyone
Activities (Open for All)
- Community Clean-Up:
- Time: 5:00 am to 8:00 am
- Recycle Bin for Donations:
- Various recycle bins will be available at the event
- Participants are encouraged to donate unused items, such as clothing and electronics
