Competition Overview
The 11th annual Ocean Awareness Contest is a global platform for school students aged 11-18 to engage with environmental issues through art-making and creative communication. It aims to foster learning, explore their connection to a changing world, and encourage them to become advocates for positive change.
2023 Theme: Climate Heroes in Action
The 2023 Ocean Awareness Contest focuses on the theme of "Climate Heroes in Action." It encourages students to learn about climate change and solutions to the climate crisis. The contest aims to celebrate the work of everyday heroes who are dedicated to creating a more habitable and just world in the face of human-induced climate change.
Eligibility
- Students aged 11-18 from around the world can participate
- Participants can enter as individuals or as a club, class, or group
- All students must provide contact information for an Adult Sponsor
- Students who have started college or university are not eligible to participate

Awards
Participants have the opportunity to earn cash awards of up to $1,500.
